COMMUNITY NEEDS
Helping real people and families in their times of need.
These needs are referred from local service agencies in Bonner County and surrounding areas who are working directly with people in the community. They tell us what people are experiencing and we help find generous people to help in their time of crisis. 100% of donations go directly towards meeting needs, so donors get to know exactly what their money is being used for.

Love in Action Idaho is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps connect people who want to give with specific needs in the community through our community giving registry. Just like someone might go to a wedding registry or baby registry to purchase a specific gift, people can go to our website to meet a specific need.

We only post needs that are sent to us by a case manager or advocate from an approved service agency, such as a domestic violence shelter, victim service organization, or local police department. We do not allow individuals to request items or services directly.
-
We purchase the item and send it to the client or we work with the company who is providing the service to pay them directly. We do not provide cash to clients.

I used to work as a case manager for a victim service agency and I noticed certain gaps in the resources available to clients. For example, a client needed their car repaired to get to work but couldn’t afford it. It was difficult because I wasn’t aware of any resources available to meet those specific and unique needs. I also have been in the situation of wanting to help, but not knowing what people need. So, after years of being prompted by God to move forward with this idea, I eventually started Love in Action Idaho to help create a resource to meet those needs and provide a tool for people who want to help but don’t know where to start.

A local man needs help maintaining reliable transportation so he can make progress towards regaining financial stability. He is currently facing a difficult transition after recently losing his job. He has been dealing with health-related challenges and has also been working through the disability and unemployment processes. His disability claim was denied, and his unemployment claim is currently pending. In the meantime, he is actively working with the Department of Labor to find employment and he is doing everything he can to become financially self-sufficient again. He recently had to replace his vehicle with another used car, which created additional expenses for registration, plates, tabs, and insurance. His vehicle is especially important right now because he needs dependable transportation to look for work, attend appointments, meet with the Department of Labor, and handle the day-to-day responsibilities necessary to get back on his feet. His most immediate need is automobile insurance. He has $132 due on his current Washington insurance policy by August 18, 2026, and the policy will be canceled if the payment is not made. He is also in the process of transitioning to an Idaho policy. The new Idaho policy requires a $250 payment to activate coverage and includes an SR-22 filing. He needs the SR-22 because he was pulled over in 2025 while driving without active auto insurance coverage. Any assistance to help him keep his insurance so he can continue to make progress towards financial stability is greatly appreciated.
